Valeria Latorre is a self-taught visual artist with a scientific background. She is based in the South of Italy. Born 1982 in Cosenza, Italy, she graduated in Statistics (BSc, MSc) and at the age of 27 she left Italy and lived in Philadelphia for almost 2 years, to complete her PhD thesis in Statistical Genetics. In 2011 she was selected to attend the Scenic Art course for the Theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she left her scientific path to face life as a painter and artist. Since graduation, she has been working as a professional artist (scenic artist, mural artist, art tutor, visual artist). She left London in March 2018 to fully commit to her paintings. Since then she lives in her hometown in Calabria, Italy, creating and researching in her studio.
