The benefit auction features a vibrant collection of works on paper and panel by artist Fahren Feingold, who has become known for her ethereal feminine watercolor paintings that emphasize the female gaze through fluid brush strokes using her signature wet-on-wet technique. The artist, who has been represented by the gallery since 2017, has been featured in a number of solo exhibitions, group shows and benefits presented by The Untitled Space, and is featured in numerous notable international collections.
“Painting in ethereal colors, I interpret auras and energy fields between me and my models. The figures appear translucent as they swim on the page and gently nudge the viewer to interact. Exploring themes of how I exist in the world, interact with others, and how I can be at one with the surrounding universe has taken me a lot of time and growth. Through my own journey with mental health, I am constantly seeking out ways to expand and be more empathic. In doing so, I have created new circuits of understanding, patience, and compassion. Opening my eyes to the beauty and love that exists within me and around, my paintings act as a quiet dagger of truth, exposing the beauty of the feminine form from the female gaze, emphasizing the female body as a great thing to behold, free of judgement and objectification. My paintings of the female figure expands the footprint of women painted by women, celebrating sisterhood and empowering female themes.”– Artist Fahren Feingold

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Watercolor artist Fahren Feingold imparts an ethereal quality to her unique works depicting the female form. Her watercolors featuring bold feminine nudes reference her own photographs as well as imagery from early 20th century French erotica, and vintage American magazines from the 70s and 80s. The Los Angeles native moved to New York at the age of seventeen to study at the Parsons School of Design. After earning her BFA between Parsons and Glasgow School of Art, she worked as a fashion designer for top brands including Ralph Lauren, Nicole Miller, and J.Crew, among others. In 2016, her dreamy watercolors caught the eye of the legendary Nick Knight, who commissioned her to illustrate Paris Fashion Week for SHOWStudio. Her work has been featured in numerous international exhibitions including “Moving Kate,” curated by Nick Knight for SHOWStudio in London and The Mass in Tokyo; “The Vulgar” at The Barbican in London, curated by Judith Clark and Adam Phillips; “Red Hot Wicked” at Studio C Gallery in Los Angeles; as well as a number of exhibitions at The Untitled Space, including her debut solo show in 2017.
Celebrated as “a trailblazing artist on a meteoric rise” by Vogue, her watercolors have steadily gained recognition from collectors and critics alike for their sensitive, dreamlike colors, graceful brush, and rendition of the female nude. Through her erotic depictions, Feingold gives new voices to women of the past and present while exploring larger notions of female constructs in contemporary society.
In 2017 The Untitled Space presented her debut solo show FAHREN FEINGOLD, followed by her 2018 solo show, PEEP SHOW, presented in collaboration The Untitled Space and fashion brand Fleur du Mal, and her 2021 solo show, WET DREAMS presented at the gallery’s location on Lispenard Street in Tribeca, NYC. She has additionally been featured in the gallery’s group shows REBEL, INNOVATE, UNTITLED, BODY BEAUTIFUL, IRL Investigating Reality, ONE YEAR OF RESISTANCE, SECRET GARDEN, UPRISE / ANGRY WOMEN, The Female Gaze on Love, Lust & Longing, and LIFEFORCE, as well as at SCOPE MIAMI and AQUA MIAMI Art Fairs in 2018. Her work was featured at SPRING/BREAK Art Show “(Hotel) XX” (2018) and “EDEN” (2019) Special Projects presented by The Untitled Space, at Sotheby’s New York “Take Home A Nude” benefit exhibit and auction, as well as Art4Equality x SaveArtSpace’s 2020 public art billboard exhibition.
